the hospice team
At Olive Branch Hospice our patients are our top priority. Our goal is to support the patient as well as their families. The diagram below indicates each professional involved with the patient’s care with the patient and their family in the center to represent the primary goal of our hospice team.
What is included with hospice care
- Manage the patient’s pain and other symptoms.
- Assist the patient and family members with the emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual aspects of dying.
- Provide medications and medical equipment.
- Instruct the family on how to care for the patient.
- Make short-term inpatient care available when pain or symptoms become too difficult to manage at home or the caregiver needs respite time.
- Deliver special services like speech and physical therapy when needed.
- Provide grief support and counseling to surviving family and friends.
